So while we are all busy rocking our African Prints, you'd agree that we have challenges maintaining their lustre, not forgetting the complicated embroidery, lace and diamanté stones they are sometimes designed with.
Well, we put together a few tips to help you care for and maintain your African print fabrics.
First of all, you shouldn't wash your fabrics too often. Instead, try drying them out in the sun. This way the fabric wouldn't fade too easily and you don't have to worry about loosing embellishments.
For when you need to wash, gently hand wash and as much as possible, avoid using harsh detergents.
lastly, pay attention to the level of heat you apply when ironing. Most African prints are made of cotton which would require high heat but beware of attachments made of linen, voile and other fabrics and of embellishments which may have glue.
So there you have it. Hopefully with these tips, you'll get more wear and less tear out of your African print fabrics.
